前立は半満月象徴 The front is a symbol of the half full moon. Made of wood with gold and red colour paint. Right side of the 前立 Maedate has an old damage (point broken off).

立物 Tatsumono

Decorative of feathers straight after de 前立 Maedate. Design of the 立物 Tatsumono is a wooden handle finished with brown/black and white feathers

Style iron Menpộ consisting of 2 parts assembled by pins, with a thick embossed fold in the corners of the mouth and under the eyes

The moustache and goatee is realistic/artistically formed with real hair

Internal inside: 赤漆色 Red Urushi colour

External outside: 金属色綺麗な緑青  Metal colour with beautiful patina

This 日本の鎧 Japanese armour is accompanied with a single 鎧貯蔵箱 armour storage box.  

At the back of the armour is an originale 指物 Sashimono-frame situated in the 受物 Uke(d)-Zutsu (Sashimono pole holder). PS: Still looking for a Sashimono-flag! 

江戸時代初期の鎧 Early Edo period armour(Period also mentioned on the certificate)

合わせ物では無く、全てが揃いでオリジナルです It’s not a combination, it’s all original. All parts are en suite and belong together

大変貴重な甲冑ですIt is a very valuable armour                                                                                                                           

歴史 History

This 日本の鎧 Japanese armour comes straight from a private Japanese collection.

On April 24, 1977, this 日本の鎧 Japanese armour obtained its certificate through the NBTHK. After the Shinsa in 1977, this 日本の鎧 Japanese armour has never been seen again in public, at auctions or in a museum again.
